200th Blanket Made...

This weekend, Marissa & friends made the 200th blanket that will be given to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.  Many of the blankets made have been donated to @Layers_of_Love to be distributed to patients nationally, while others have been given to local outpatient centers or people we know undergoing chemotherapy.  Way to go everyone!  This has been a true community effort.... so many people have made this possible.  Thank you ALL!  Now let's raise the bar.... new goal = 360 blankets.... double chai!

  1. Hello Marissa and Friends !

My name is Lynne Knowlton and my husband Michael has a rare 'one in a million' blood cancer that is in 75% of his bone marrow.
Recently, I was blogging/tweeting about his chemo experience and LAYERS OF LOVE found me on twitter.

This week, we received a blanket from you. ( we are in Canada). It literally brought tears to our eyes. We just want you to know that your hard work and love is felt all the way to Canada. You sure made a difference to us. Your generosity and kindness is overwhelmingly beautiful.
We received the blanket in the mail, and it was like CHRISTMAS. Michael just completed his 8th round of chemo, and he had that blanket on him in about 5 seconds flat. LOL!
Thank you soooooo much for sending. You are beautiful souls and we are so very grateful.

Here is my blog address, if you would like to read about Michael & his cancer journey. We try and have a big fat laugh through it all. After all, what is the alternative? We would all fall to pieces. We choose laughter. xx

  2. Dear Mrs. Knowlton,
Thank you so much for your email. I know this a project that my dad would have LOVED. We just shipped out another 20 blankets to @layers_of_love the other day. I know I always feel better when I cuddle up with my own blankie... so I hope the one we made for Mr. Knowlton brings his body & his heart comfort & warmth. I LOVE your blog - it's amazing! If you can, check out my mom's blog at www.cancerhawk.com - she writes about the different resources that are available to help people with cancer... and she sometimes uses "potty language", just like you. BTW, I choose laughter too... ;-)

  3. I am 29 years old and have been diagnosed with breast cancer, ease of treatment and a similar story, except for my first acceptance as a rejection of herbal medicine. I was not part of the Perseid movement and did not really build relationships with any of them, I just believed in their operation. I say this because it was during the use of Dr. Itua herbal medicine that I now attest that herbal medicine is real, the phytotherapy Dr. Itua heal my breast cancer which I suffered for 2 years. Dr. Itua herbal medicine is made of natural herbs, with no side effects, and easy to drink.
